Moving house checklist you can split with everyone else moving

Timed from eight weeks out to moving day, including who to tell.

No account, no install. You get a link you can send to anyone.

Moving is not one job, it is about sixty small jobs with deadlines attached. The expensive mistakes are almost always administrative: the broadband that was never booked, the meter reading nobody photographed, the insurer who was never told.

This checklist is ordered by when things need to happen rather than by category, so you can see what is already late. The change-of-address and utilities sections are the ones people forget.

If you are moving with someone else, share the link and assign items between you. Nothing gets done twice and nothing gets assumed.

Questions people ask

When should I start?
About eight weeks before, if you can. The first section is written for that point, but the list still works if you are starting later - just work down it faster.
Can I assign items to a specific person?
Yes. You can add the people involved to the list and put a name against individual items.
Does this work outside the UK?
Mostly. The timeline and the change-of-address section are general, but the exact utilities and local taxes differ by country, so edit that section to match where you live.
Do I need to sign up?
No account and no install. Create the list, share the link.
